Greeting from the Thomas Mar Athanasius Institute of Counselling

The "Thomas Mar Athanasius Counselling Centre" was set up in 1984, when the Marthoma Church, through a resoulution of the Sabha Council decided to set up a centre in Kottayam, Kerala, so as to provide and quality counselling services thopugh qualified and trained counsellors, in view of growing number of people who needed counselling services becuase of the different types of crisis and challenges that they were facing in life. TMA Counselling Centre was renamed as TMA Institute of Counselling in 2003, consequent to the inclusion of training and research facilities in the scope of the institution. The institute aims at providing counseling services, psycotherapuetic interventions, and mentoring  to all who are going through different types of crisis, development challenges, stress or truama, - persons, families and groups. The institute also aims at providing training in both basic skills and advanced skills in counselling and  also in conducting research in the field of pastoral counseling and psychotherapy. The Institute through its functioning in the last 36 years has produced very qualified and professionally trained counsellors and psychotherpist who are now working at different parts of the world

We thank God for His  mercy and grace shown towards the Institute, to serve society in India through the ministry of counselling and psychotherapy. We earnestly solicit prayers and support from the well-wishers of the Institute. May our God Almighty continue to inspire this institute to take up the challenges and needs of the society through meaningful counselling ministry.
